Togliatti Local History Museum

The Togliatti Museum has been counting down its history since March 29, 1962, when the Executive Committee of the Kuibyshev Regional Council of Workers’ Deputies issued Order No. 142-10 “On the relocation of the Museum of Local History from Zhigulevsk to Stavropol”. The local history museum of Stavropol-Togliatti first occupied one room, and its work began with the collection of funds and paperwork.

Today TCM is a museum that strives to work in the field of culture in a new and professional way, guided by its mission: We are the main museum of Togliatti, preserve the unique history of the city, support pride and love for it, provide a range of high-quality intellectual services. We strive to be a mobile, modern cultural hub for successful and talented individuals.”

The Togliatti Museum of Local Lore is the oldest museum in the city. Togliatti; "The Best Museum of the Samara Region" (professional award "Silver Gull", 2004); 40 exhibitions per year (half - from their funds); Festival "Museum Picnic", Giving Day, "Tatishchev days", the action "Night at the Museum" - traditional museum actions; "Museum newspaper" - joint work with the Volga University named after Tatishchev; organization of archaeological expeditions; 31 years - the average age of scientists; new museum professions - designer, video engineer, programmer, marketing and public relations specialists, furniture restorer, laboratory assistant funds, and even a journalist; computer technology, automated accounting and storage systems, design and imagery, etc.
