Description:
The great importance of the cathedral for the Tomsk land is that it was here that the creation of the Tomsk province was announced in 1804 - despite the fact that the construction of the temple was not yet completed.
The cathedral contains a piece of the relics of the holy Great Martyr and healer Panteleimon, brought here in 2001 by His Grace Rostislav, Bishop of Tomsk and Asinov from the Moscow Patriarchate. Also among the shrines of the temple are the relics of the Apostles Andrew the First-Called and Philip, the Great Martyrs Barbara and Anastasia the Uzoreshtelnitsa, Princes Alexander Nevsky and Dimitri Uglichsky. And to the crucifix hanging on the altar of the temple is attached a part of the cross, which was crucified Jesus Christ. Special veneration is enjoyed by the icon of the Mother of God "Inexhaustible Cup", which comes to worship not only local citizens, but also pilgrims from other cities.
The cathedral is located in the reserved historical and cultural area "Sands".
