Home slipper monument n

Tomsk, Kirov Avenue, 65.

Description:

One of the most unusual monuments in Tomsk is a sculpture of modest home slippers on the porch of the Tomsk Hotel near the main station. Next to the bronze pair of these homemade shoes is a small plaque that reads "Be at home." The monument was erected in 2006 - this is how the monument, erected in 2006 as a symbol of hospitality and coziness for which the locals are famous, welcomes guests.

Such an unusual monument was invented and implemented by the Tomsk sculptor Oleg Kislitsky. The idea arose from the author when he left the hotel and stayed on the porch for a couple of moments. Kislitsky thought for a long time what exactly should be slippers in appearance - with pompos, wool, in a cell. As a result of disembodied reflection, the author simply removed his home slipper from his foot and made a cast of it. Today, hospitable slippers are installed on a small pedestal and anyone can try them on. Their length is 32 centimeters, so they can enter the leg of any size.
