First Museum of Slavic Mythology

Address: Tomsk, st. Zagornaya, 12.

About the company:

The first museum of Slavic mythology is a unique private museum that tells about the origins of Russian culture, fairy tales, traditions, legends!

The museum was founded in 2007 by Gennady Mikhailovich Pavlov (1958-2015) – Tomsk entrepreneur, historian by education.
The museum’s collection includes about 1,000 exhibits that cover the history of the development of Russian culture – from the Indo-European era to the present day.
It presents a thematic collection of paintings and works of decorative and applied art, objects of peasant life, ancient costumes of the XIX century, reconstructions of historical objects and interactive exhibits. The exhibition space combines a permanent exhibition and several updated temporary exhibitions.

In addition to the rich collection, the museum has many other reasons to be proud – this is a team of people in love with tradition, a panoramic roof, and an ethnic souvenir shop.

The museum also functions as an educational center, conducting educational activities through lectures, creative master classes and festivals. The events provide for the interests of people of all ages and are announced weekly in social networks and on the website slav-museum.ru.

Relations with visitors are built on full trust: there are no caretakers in the Museum and conditions are created for comfortable study of objects and obtaining deep personal experience. Those who prefer to visit without guides are provided with a free and detailed audio guide. Also, anyone who wants to get acquainted with the Museum can install izi.travel on their smartphone (including in English!).

The museum is located in the historical center - at the foot of the Resurrection Mountain, a 2-minute walk from the stone of the foundation of the city of Tomsk.
The cost of visiting is very democratic and starts from 100 rubles!
