Museum of A.S. Pushkin in Torzhka
About the company:
The museum was opened on June 3, 1972 and is housed in a one-storey wooden mansion Lviv-Balavinsky. The exposition is devoted to the travels of A.S. Pushkin on the road Moscow-St. Petersburg, his road impressions and their reflection in the work of the writer. The central theme is the poet’s stay in Torzhka and Tver province. A large section in the exposition is devoted to the sights of Torzhok and the Pozharsky Hotel. Materials are presented about Pushkin’s trips along the “state road”, about the life of the pit workers and station rangers. The museum recreates the interior of the post station, the living room of the noble house of the XIX century. Among the exhibits are portraits of Tver friends and acquaintances of the poet: A.P. Kern, D.E. Pozharskaya, K.M. Poltoratsky.
