Trinity Museum of Local Lore
About the company:
Troitsk is an ancient merchant city with its distinctive features, long traditions, unique architecture. Many famous historical names are associated with this small provincial town. Governor of the Orenburg Territory I. I. Neplyuev, fabulist I. A. Krylov, lawyer F. N. Plevako, scientist-mineralog L. A. Kulik, linguist N. V. Krushevsky, Kazakh enlightener M. Akmulla, etc. left their memorable mark in the history of Troitsk.
It so happened that until the mid-20s of the twentieth century, there was not a single state institution in the city, where material and documentary evidence of the history of the city was concentrated, carefully collected and preserved, since even its archival service was not (the city archive was created in 1924).
Therefore, it is quite natural that on August 13, 1925, at a meeting of the planning commission of the Okryspolkom, the issue of opening a local history museum in the city was considered. The result of this meeting was the resolution of the commission "On the establishment in Troitsk of a society for the study of the local region and the organization of a local history museum." In October of the same year, the commission confirmed its previous decision to establish a local history museum, noting in its resolution that “...Creation in the current year in the city. The Trinity of the Society of Local History from local cultural workers and the opening of the district museum should be considered quite timely. Include in the budget of Okrono the cost of 3000 rubles for the organization of the museum.”
The first director of the museum becomes a red partisan, underground, the oldest printing artist Ivan Stepanovich Shamshurin. He opened the first small museum exhibition in 1926 in the building of the women’s progymnasium (now Yuri Gagarin St., 13).
In 1930, the premises were occupied by the veterinary faculty of Perm State University (the future Trinity Veterinary Institute), and the museum moved to the former winter greenhouse of the merchant Yaushev’s house.
When the war broke out, the museum temporarily ceased its work, resuming it only in June 1947 in another room along the street. Baby, 33. Now there is an exhibition hall of the local history museum, the building was built in 1890 and is included in the number of historical monuments of the city.
The Soviet period of our history was filled with the struggle of the state against the church and clergy. Troitsk was no exception. The "fathers" of the city, following the instructions of the higher authorities, closed the temples. One of the closed churches (Alexander Nevsky) near the bus station was occupied by the local history museum in November 1961, where he was until August 1991.
The changes in the country in the early 1990s put a lot in its place. Believers received the use of previously selected religious buildings, including the Church of Alexander Nevsky, and the museum moved to the city center. Now it occupies the premises of the former branch of the Siberian Bank on the central square (70 Lenin Street), built in 1893-1903. According to the museum staff and visitors, it is quite spacious and suitable for the work of the museum. More than 30,000 storage units have been collected here. All exhibits are carefully studied or studied, described, systematized.
The funds of the museum include documents and rare books, works of painting, graphics, sculptures, works of applied art, weapons and coins, natural science objects and antiques. Recently, unique materials have appeared among the exhibits: "Journal of the City Duma of 1895", "Name inventory of the families of burghers listed since 1835", documents of the City Duma of 1837.
A huge help in replenishing the museum funds was provided and rendered by the residents of the city, bringing invaluable evidence of history to the museum: letters, paintings, exlibris, cultural objects and everyday life.
A fan of antiquity, who visited this abode of history, has something to admire, be interested, discover something new and amazing. In addition to the permanent halls - the history of our region of the Bronze Age, the foundation of Troitsk, the fair, the civil war, education, culture, honorary citizens of the city - mobile, shift and stock exhibitions are regularly created. Among them are such informative and fascinating expositions as “The Founder of the City I. I. Neplyuev – 310 years old”, “Trinity Community”, “Lent, Prayer and Labor” (exhibition from the collection of Hieromonk Anthony), “The History of Elections in Troitsk”. 1937 - 2003”.
On the initiative of the Troitsk artist, honorary citizen of the city N. S. Levshich, since June 1990 the museum of local lore has had the opportunity to exhibit its funds, paintings by both local artists and mobile collections from other cities in the exhibition hall (33 Malyshev Street). Over the years, many exhibitions have been organized, which will be remembered for a long time by the Troits: "In memory of the member of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation A. R. Krylov", "The Attraction of a Small Book (miniature)", "In the World of Fairy Tales and Dreams" (exhibition of wax figures), etc. There is a literary and musical living room, where concerts of vocal music, meetings with poets, writers, artists are held.
The museum has several amateur clubs: soldiers-internationalists, local historians. Bus and walking tours around the city, sightseeing and thematic - around the museum.
This large scientific, educational, exhibition, exposition, educational work is performed by a small team of researchers of 6 people headed by the director of the local history museum Natalia Iosifovna Petunina, who came to the museum in January 1969 as a caretaker. Since then, it has been her life’s work. The director then was an ascetic and enthusiast Vasily Kirillovich Taran. After some time, he handed over the management of the museum to Natalia Iosifovna.
People who work here understand the importance and responsibility of their activities as custodians of historical memory. Museum business is very attractive for the novelty of discoveries. Having come into contact with the secrets that history reveals, it is difficult to do anything else. Therefore, museum workers do not leave their favorite work. Since 1976, the researcher N. I. Rudomanova has been working in the museum, many expositions prepared by her, she conducts wonderful excursions, often visits the schools of the city, telling about the history of her native land. Research associates R. R. Nurmukhametov and L. D. Nazarkin maintain close contact with folk craftsmen, identifying remarkable products of folk crafts. For the organization of the exhibition hall is responsible researcher G.V. Brunetkina. A lot of the museum depends on the state and safety of the funds, so the position of the head of the funds is one of the most significant, people who have always worked here are passionate, carefully related to the relics entrusted to them. The traditions of their predecessors - S. G. Yagofarova, V. N. Kulaeva - continue the head of funds E. M. Avilenko. Artist M.F. Semenov designs museum expositions and exhibitions, and there are 7 more caretakers designed to monitor the order in the halls open to visitors.
It is remarkable that there is a place in the city where you can feel the time itself, frozen in photos and unique museum exhibits, where the young generation joins the historical memory of their great-grandfathers, a place that can awaken a sense of pride and respect for the city in which you live - a local history museum.
