Dubna near Tula: Mosolov industrialists, northern navigators

We invite you to discover Zarechye - a distinctive area of Tula, which often remains outside the tourist routes. Meanwhile, it was here, on the lands granted by Tsar Fyodor Ioannovich to self-made craftsmen in 1595, that the city’s weapons glory was born long before the famous factory appeared.

We will walk through the heart of the state-owned Kuznetsk settlement, where history, craft and legends are intertwined.

Visit the Museum-estate of the Mosolovs in the village of Dubna. You will see a unique architectural ensemble, including the master’s house, production building, human buildings and a picturesque ancient park. A huge pond of the XVIII century deserves special attention - a witness to the era of iron smelting, created for the needs of the legendary plant.

Visit to the museum of Alexei Chirikov. You will discover the name of an outstanding navigator, captain-commander, associate Vitus Bering. A native of these places, Alexei Ilyich Chirikov played a key role in the First and Second Kamchatka expeditions.

It was he who discovered the sea route from Kamchatka to America, explored the northwestern shores of the continent and the Aleutian Islands. After Bering's death, Chirikov completed the great plans of the expedition, and his "Proposals" gave impetus to the development of the Far East and the Pacific coast of Russia.
