On this individual tour you are invited to get acquainted with two cities located not far from Tula - this is Tarusa and Kaluga. Tarusa is still called the Valley of Dreams. Many muse ministers here are looking for inspiration. According to local residents, this city was christened the Grez Valley by Marina Tsvetaeva, whose museum is one of the main attractions of the city. In addition to the museum of the Tsvetaev family, there is the Peter and Paul Cathedral of 1780, the Resurrection Church (XVII century), the old building of the salt barn (late XVIII – early XIX centuries), the leather warehouse (XIX century), the living room (late XIX century) and even residential houses built in the late XIX – early XX centuries. The city still has the Orthodox Cathedral of Peter and Paul (XVIII century) and the Church of the Resurrection of Christ (XVII century). The most soulful and passionate singer of Oki and Tarusa - Konstantin Georgievich Paustovsky is her honorary citizen. He admitted that he would not exchange Central Russia and Tarusa for the most famous and stunning beauty of the globe.

Kaluga, to which you will go after acquaintance with Tarusa, is one of the original Russian cities. For the unique architecture of the XVIII century – the city is also called “Little Petersburg”. It is also a city of cosmonautics, merchant houses and unusual urban sculptures. The Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics is the first in the world and the largest museum of space subjects in Russia. It was created with the direct participation of S.P. Korolev and Yu.A. Gagarin. The Space Museum was opened in Kaluga in 1967. The museum has the most complete in the country systematic collection of museum objects on astronautics, most of which are unique. The museum has more than 70,000 storage units.

On the outskirts of Kaluga, near the Oka River, there is a house-museum of the great Russian scientist Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovsky. This house is associated with 29 years of Tsiolkovsky’s life. Here he wrote dozens of important works on aeronautics, aviation, jet propulsion, astronautics and other problems.

During this tour you will see three “faces” of Kaluga: space, historical and modern. In addition to information about the fate of the founder of cosmonautics K. E. Tsiolkovsky, you will see unique architectural structures and picturesque panoramas over the water expanse of the Oka.
