EXCURSION TO THE COOKING FIELD

The Kulikovo field stretches in the southeast of the Tula region, at the point of connection of the Nepryadva and Don rivers.

The tour introduces the sights of the first military field of Russia - Kulikovo field, where in 1380 there was a battle of the combined army of Moscow Prince Dmitry Ivanovich and the Temnik of the Golden Horde Mamay, and now unique museum complexes have been created. In the exhibitions, the feat of Russian soldiers is most fully covered. Monuments of architecture and archaeological excavations dating back to those times speak of the heroic history of these places.

On the Red Hill (the village of Monastyrshchina) obelisks were created and temples were erected. The museum has many attractions that speak about the exploits of our ancestors.

Programme:

• Tour from Tula to Kulikovo Field.
• Sightseeing tour to Epiphani, an ancient merchant city, considered the "gates of the Kulikovo field".

• A sightseeing tour in the museum of merchant life, located in the very center of Epiphani, near the main square of the village and the majestic Nikolsky Cathedral.

The combination of traditional foundations and newfangled trends was reflected in the decoration of the residential building. Old furniture and utensils, guitar and gramophone, watches and letters of commendation – all merged together in the living room, without any attention to style. Such was the world of material and spiritual needs of the Russian philistine of that time, a figure who became a household name in national history and literature.

The museum of merchant life presents a petty-bourgeois living room, living rooms, an office, a kitchen, a small shop with a basement, where an exhibition of containers, measures and weights takes place.

• Excursion to the village of Monastyrshchino (one of the historical places of the Kulikovo field). Here, according to legend, were buried Russian wars that fell in the Battle of Kulikovo. 1 km from the temple is the confluence of the rivers Nepryadva and Don, where, according to legend, was made crossing of Russian troops on the eve of the battle. In the vicinity of the village of Monastyrshchino is located Zelenaya Dubrava - a legendary forest, where the Ambush Regiment of Russian soldiers, who decided the outcome of the battle, was waiting for its time.

• Lunch.
• Excursion "The Tale of Mama's Fight." A new reading on the main exhibition of the museum complex "Kulikovsky field" S. Mokhovoe. The history of the Battle of Kulikovo is presented in two planes by the new museum. First, the story of the battle of 1380 is based on the “Tale of Mamaev’s Battle”. The chronicle history is supported by authentic evidence of the Battle of Kulikovo – the finds of archaeologists discovered by researchers on the battlefield. Then the chronicle history is subjected to a comprehensive scientific analysis, and the Battle of Kulikovo appears before the visitor in the light of modern scientific knowledge. Sections of this part of the exposition represent the multifaceted scientific activity that the museum has been conducting for decades to study the history of the Kulikovo Battle and the Kulikovo Field: the reconstruction of the historical landscape of the 14th century, which helped determine the forest and steppe territories and the place of battle, the archaeology of the Kulikovo Field and the search for relics of the Battle of Kulikovo, the burials of fallen soldiers, recreated pictures of the life of the ancient settlements of the Kulikovo Field. All sections of the exposition are concentrated on the central exhibit – the main layout of the field, where the landscape of the XIV century is reconstructed and a chronicle of events is presented.

• Excursion on the Red Hill of the Kulikovo Field - to the oldest monument of military glory of Russia: a column in honor of the Prince Dmitry Donskoy, a temple-monument of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
