About the company:

The House-Museum of the Hero of the Soviet Union A. Chekalin in the village of Peskovatskoye is a branch of the MBUK "Suvorov District Museum of Local History". It was organized by the youth of this village in 1962.

The efforts of the Komsomol villagers of Peskovatskoye collected exhibits, personal belongings and items used by Sasha. The first tour guide was Averina Maria Kuzminichna – the wife of a close childhood friend of Sasha Chekalin, Sergey Averin, who helped in the search for material for the museum and gave interesting information from memories of school years.

In the House-Museum there are stands with photos of relatives and friends of Alexander. The room of the museum is furnished as it was in the house of Chekalin during the life of the hero.

Hikes are carried out on partisan dugouts of the detachment "Pedovaya", on holy places - Zabyn, Optina Desert, Good, Rust... The museum annually takes part in the local history meeting “Likhvin Meetings”.
