The Polenov Museum was founded in 1892 by the People’s Artist of Russia V.D. Polenov and is the first folk museum in the Russian village. The exposition of the museum contains numerous collections, including works of art by V.D. Polenov, I.E. Repin, K. Korovin, etc., unique furniture and antiquities, the collection of DPI from the end of the XIX century to the present day, personal belongings of Polenov and his family members, a unique memorial library. The Big House, where the main collections are located, is the center of the estate and the entire reserve. The estate complex includes 17 memorial buildings and a park. |
The uniqueness of the estate complex is that all buildings were created according to the Project of V.D. Polenov, reflecting the architectural trends of the late XIX century. |
