The estate is located 80 km from Yasnaya Polyana. Pokrovskoye was one of the family estates of the branched Tolstoy family and at the end of the XVIII century belonged to the writer’s cousin P. I. Tolstoy. For his son Valerian Petrovich in 1847 married the sister of the writer Maria Nikolaevna Tolstaya. In Pokrovsky preserved house, which in 2001 was purchased by the museum-estate "Yasnaya Polyana". |
