Description:
In 1724, by decree of Peter I, the Tula Arms Factory began to collect antique guns, which later formed the basis of the museum’s collection. Today, the collection of the museum is unique - it gives an opportunity to trace the evolution of weapons from the end of the XVI century to the present day. Samples of firearms and cold weapons by masters of Russia, Western Europe and the East allow you to compare the achievements of domestic and foreign gunsmiths. The museum has extensive collections of sports and hunting weapons. Real masterpieces are guns made in memory of the visit of the Tula arms factory by members of the royal family. Some of them represented Russia at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900 and were awarded the Great Gold Medal. Among modern samples of special purpose weapons are of particular interest: small-sized pistols - machine guns, underwater and silent machines and pistols, shooting a scout knife. The museum also exhibits cannons and machine guns designed for armament of aircraft, helicopters, ships and combat vehicles.
