Tutayev

Tutaev - Volga-Yaroslavl Plyos in the Russian province

Description:

Tutaev is our Yaroslavl Plyos local format, standing on 2 banks of the Volga. A small town on the steep Volga shores, it will conquer all lovers of inspiring landscapes, solitude, romance. These places were glorified by Boris Kustodiev, coming here to paint his paintings of the Russian province. After the noisy big cities in Tutaev, it is very pleasant to be.

Tutaev is one of the four cities of the Yaroslavl region with the status of “Historical settlement”.

Tutaev land is the birthplace of 3 world-famous people: Valentina Tereshkova (the world's first woman cosonaut), Fedor Fedorovich Ushakov (the legendary Russian naval commander and saint of the Russian Orthodox Church), Fyodor Ivanovich Tolbukhin (Marshal of the Soviet Union, hero of the Great Patriotic War).

During the tour you will learn: - What does "Tutaev" mean and why it will soon be renamed Romanov-Borisoglebsk; What is the famous Romanov sheep? - What Tutaev attracted Russian artists, such as Kustodiev, who painted here on the Plenary in 1906;

As part of our walk you will see:

- Multimeter icon-giant "Savior all-merciful not-made" (15th century) - the largest in Russia;

- walk along Kustodievsky Boulevard, where Boris Kustodiev created his paintings: "Volga", "Walking on the Volga", "Bathing on the Volga", "Province", which are now hanging in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow;

- Temple pearls of Tutaev (the majestic Resurrection Cathedral, the resurgent Holy Cross Cathedral, the “air” Kazan Transfiguration Church...);

The square where the comedy “12 chairs” was filmed; - Beautiful samples of Russian huts with carved casings;

- In the local museum - what a school class of the middle of the XX century looked like (with authentic furniture, a board and posters). That's how our parents learned!

And if exactly at such desks you sat, then pleasant nostalgia is guaranteed to you - and we will gladly capture you on your camera - at the desk, as in the good old days!

The town of Tutaev is unique in that it is located on two banks of the Volga. The tour will begin on the modern, right bank of the city, and will continue on the left bank - the merchant side. We will get there through the Volga by ferry or boat! This tour conveys the spirit of the Russian hinterland as best as possible! In addition to content and informativeness, you will feel that you have really rested your soul!
