Bezhetsk is the district center of the Tver region with a population of 23 thousand people, where tourists are lured mainly by two surnames - Gumilev and Akhmatova. So it happened in our country to attract tourists look for world brands, ashamed of their provinciality and their heroes.

The funny thing is that neither Nikolai Gumilev nor Anna Akhmatova lived in Bezhetsk. Wonderful poets spent in the estate of Slepnevo, 20 km from Bezhetsk, several not the most wonderful months of their lives. And in Bezhetsk there were hits. Here grew up their son Lev Gumilev, a world-renowned scientist, author of the theory of ethnogenesis.

In the mezzanine of the House of Poets there is a room glued with blue wallpaper, a hard couch, old photos, cute things that the owners did not pay attention to. Now they are the memory of famous guests, kept in the House of Poets as the greatest jewel.
