Church of Michael Tversky
Description:
The Church of Mikhail Tversky was built in 2002 in honor of the Grand Duke of All Russia, Prince of Tver and Vladimir. The church is located in the center of Tver on the island of Memory (at the confluence of the Tymak River into the Volga). It was consecrated by Archbishop of Tver and Viktor Kashinsky on October 6, 2002.
The place is chosen exceptionally picturesque - where the river Tymak forms bizarre convolutions before joining the Volga. The temple was built according to the project of Tver architects Valery Kurochkin and Andrei Barkovsky. The structure is stylized under the ancient Russian architecture of the Vladimir-Suzdal style.
