Church in the Name of the Kazan Mother of God

Russia, Tver region, Tver, Vlasevo village, Moscow highway, 10

Description:

The Church in the name of the Kazan Mother of God is located in the village of Vlasevo within the city of Tver. The place where the church stands is very picturesque - this is the Volga coast. The church was built in the XVIII century, consecrated in 1782. At this place there was already a wooden church of Nicholas the Wonderworker, but in 1680 the temple came into desolation and collapsed. The new landowners of the village Vlasevo Ugryumov built a wooden church of the Kazan Mother of God, and closer to the end of the XVIII century, the owner of the village Psishcheva built a stone church at her own expense. The church also remained in the name of the Kazan Mother of God.

In the XX century, a children's shelter and a parish school were opened at the church. After the revolution, the church was abandoned and closed. In 1989, worship services resumed in the church. The rector of the church, Archpriest Nikolai Vasechko, serves in it for many years, is engaged in the reconstruction of the church and putting the territory in order. With his participation, the Department of Orthodox Theology was opened at Tver University, the first in Russia.
