Temple of the White Trinity
Description:
The White Trinity Temple is the oldest building of the city and a monument of history and architecture. The relics of Makari Kalyazinsky are kept in the temple.
The temple was completed in 1564, but over the following centuries it was rebuilt and expanded. The facade of the temple does not differ in particular architectural beauty, but inside the room are decorated with frescoes on biblical themes, some of which date back to the XVIII-XIX centuries. Also in the temple you can see several ancient icons of the XVI century and the iconostasis of the XVIII century.
There is a legend that under the temple there is an underground passage, several hundred meters long, where people used to hide from enemies.
