Monument to Pushkin
Description:
The great poet A. S. Pushkin passed through Tver about thirty times, and stayed four times in this beautiful city. Here he had some important events, including the failed duel with V. Sollogub. Tver is often mentioned in the works of the writer. Therefore, it is not surprising that a monument to the great compatriot was erected here in 1974. It is located on the embankment of Mikhail Yaroslavich in the city garden. The monument was inaugurated on the 175th anniversary of the birth of the great writer. In its creation participated architects N.I. Komov, V.A. Frolov and sculptor O.K. Komov.
The monument to A. S. Pushkin, installed on a granite pedestal, is made of pure bronze, its height is 3.5 meters. The poet is depicted pensive and looking into the distance, perhaps at this moment he is thinking about the next plot of his new play. Every year this place attracts many tourists and locals who come here to honor the memory of the great master of the pen.
