Place de la Peace
Description:
Mi'ra Square is an area in the left-bank part of the city of Tver, in the Zavolzhsky district, between the embankment of Athanasiya Nikitin and Gorky Street.
The planned development of the square began after the Great Patriotic War in the 1950s, and on June 28, 1959, a grand opening took place.
In the center of the square is a sculptural composition “Friendship of Peoples”.
Along the square are residential buildings and the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Tver region. In front of the building is a monument to employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs who died in the line of duty.
From the south to the square comes the Starovolzhsky Bridge, which delimits two districts of the city - Central and Zavolzhsky.
