Lenin Avenue

lenin Avenue, Proletarian District, City of Tver

Description:

Lenin Avenue in the city of Tver stretches between two other avenues - Kalinin and 50 years of October. Previously, the street had another name - Migalovskoye highway.

The need to create a prospectus arose in Tver in the early XX century. At first it was a simple dirt street, which in 1930 was paved. Until then, there was a Zeltikoye field and a radio station in this area. It is noteworthy that the great scientist M.A. Bonch-Bruevich began his career there.

The construction of the prospectus was part of the five-year plan of the NEP of the USSR. With the improvement of the street, the development of the city began with multi-storey buildings. At the same time, the prospectus was named after V.I. Lenin.

Today on the avenue there is a technical university, a cinema "Tver", a printing plant, which by the way is considered one of the largest in the country, and many other important objects of the city.
