River Mologa
Russia, Tver region, river Mologa
Description:
The Mologa River stretches through three regions in Russia, Novgorod, Tver and Vologda. Mologa flows into Vseigonsky Ples, located on the Rybinsk reservoir of the Volga River.
In the course of its course, the river expands, forming a chain of lakes and simply large lakes with wetlands, then again narrows, continuing to move to the Volga. After the city of Ustyuzhna, the width of the river due to numerous tributaries increases so much that river vessels can walk along it. Another industrial use of the river is tree rafting.
Throughout the river, the landscape of the banks is changing. Wetland valleys are replaced by beautiful coastal forests, and numerous sandy beaches with rocky rolls.
Most of the river valley is sparsely populated, on it are the cities of Bezhetsk, Pestovo, Ustyuzhna and a small village of Maksatikha.
Mologa is rich in fish, it contains all the species that are in the Rybinsk Reservoir. Coastal forests attract many forests and berries. There are small boats running along the river.
