Georgian Manor
georgian village, Torzhoksky district, Tver region
Description:
Previously, on the site of the estate was the village of Kuznechkovo. In 1740 it was used by the director of the singing chapel M.F. Poltoratsky. He, in turn, decorated the area to his taste. Especially for this he called the architect Rastrelli, who built a luxurious palace complex with wings and closed galleries.
In 1746, a church was built near the manor house. When the icon of the Mother of God of Georgia was brought to it, the estate was named Georgians in her honor.
In addition, the patrimony partially preserved buildings, greenhouses, horse yard, barns and much more. Around them is an artificial pond, a long mud and a wonderful orchard that has long been overgrown. But this is not very striking, but on the contrary creates a complete image of antiquity.
Surprisingly, the estate even preserved a bridge of boulders, thrown over the river Jalenka, which flows on the territory of the estate.
