The Red Manor
krasnoye village, Staritsky district, Tver region
Description:
The estate appeared in the XVIII century. It was built by state and military figure K.M. Poltoratsky. Unfortunately, only the ruins of the noble house and the Transfiguration Church remained from his estate. From the remains of the master choir, you can judge how simple the building was built. What can you say about the temple? A lot of money was invested in its construction.
The Transfiguration Church is a repetition of the famous St. Petersburg Chesme Palace. Construction in pseudo-Gothic style. The building is made of white brick with the addition of decorative stone. In the decoration of the facade there is a Gothic motif. On the walls are pointed arches and huge elongated windows. From the outside it looks like an openwork lace. On the roof of the church there are sculptures of angels and peak towers.
The Transfiguration Church is still working. You can not only admire it from the outside, but also look inside.
