Manor Suburban
Tver region, Toropetsky district, s. Suburban
Description:
A small and compact house in the suburbs makes a pleasant impression. It is one-story with a mezzanine, which stretches between two porticoes (yard and park). The proportions of the mansion are still far from ideal. Widely spaced columns of porticoes seem too thin, but their capitals of palladian windows are well worked out and the entablature is distinguished by the refinement of stucco details.
The estate was rebuilt at the beginning of the XIX century by a rich landowner of the Toropetsk district, Colonel Alexander Mikhailovich Chelishchev. The owner was a little remarkable personality, and was remembered only by the fact that at one time he was a county leader of the nobility. After his death, his son Evgraf Alexandrovich entered the right of inheritance. With the abolition of serfdom, the estate declines and is sold - the Chelishchevs forever part with their ancestral nest.
Previously, the local administration was housed in the master’s house, now it occupies the right wing, in the left – a kind of sanitary part. The house itself is empty, and this can be considered the beginning of his death. There are still whole filling of windows, but in the roof terrible leaks, the floors are rotten, the floors are opened all over you can see that a person has not stepped here for a long time.
