Selihovo Manor
Russia, Tver region, Torzhoksky district, village Selikhovo.
Description:
The relatively large village of Selikhovo in the Tver region, Torzhoksky district is located away from the main road Torzhok-Ostashkov. Selikhovo Manor is located on the edge of this village. There are different versions of the name of the estate, according to one it comes from the word “to settle”, according to the other from “selich”, i.e. “sellen”. The owners of the estate have always been representatives of the Zagryazhsky family.
According to art history data, this estate consisted of more than 16 buildings, of which, at present, very few have survived. Namely, the remains of the master’s house and overgrown, once a picturesque park.
Currently, only according to archival data, it is possible to imagine the former estate of Selikhovo, during its heyday. This is a large, but one-storey, good-quality master's house with an extensive basement. The composition of the building represented an elongated rectangle, with two symmetrical risalites. Front projection, each consisted of a small open terrace with two columns, supporting a triangular roof. Apparently, it was a cozy estate, where the owners led a measured lifestyle.
