Estate Znamenskoye-Rayok
village of Raek, Torzhoksky district, Tver region
Description:
The estate was built at the end of the XVIII century for Senator I.F. Glebov. The general-in-chief thought for a long time about what his residence should look like. He invited several architects to create the project. The leading among them was N.A. Lvov. After long edits, Glebanov approved the idea of creating a mansion surrounded by columns. On the sides of the house connect the wings, opposite which the main gate. Behind the house, according to the plan, an English garden was created with pavilions, with 17 grottoes, arbors and rare species of trees.
In 1766, the Znamensky Church was built near the estate. She appeared at the request of the senator's father. It kept ancient icons of the Glebov family.
In 1917, the estate together with the church was looted. Closer to the XXI century, the estate was leased to a private entrepreneur who restored the estate and arranged a hotel complex there. The main attraction for guests - aristocratic rooms of the XVIII century.
