About the company:
The Tver State United Museum was established on August 9, 1866. The grand opening was attended by the heir Tsarevich Alexander Alexandrovich and Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich. The museum was created primarily for children, but since its foundation, the United Museum is one of the richest provincial antiquities. In its repositories there are more than 14,000 antiquities, among which about 8,000 are rare scrolls and manuscripts, archives of noble families and the first printed books.
The expositions of the museum cover the animal and plant world of the Tver region, the medieval period of ancient Tver and its development in the period from the XVII to the XIX century. Separate expositions tell about traditional folk crafts and industry in the Tver region. Military-historical halls tell about the role of the inhabitants of the city in the history of the Navy, as well as the events of the December Revolution and the Patriotic War. The modern period in the museum is associated with the history of space exploration.
