Tyumen Drama Theatre
About the company:
The first drama theater in Tyumen appeared in 1858. This was a very significant and important event in the field. For the locals, it was surprising that in the commercial region, in which only maps existed from entertainment, there were enough people who not only organized the first theater, but also made up the main cast. The first patron of the theater was the merchant A.I. Tekutiev. Over the years, the theater has changed its name many times - the Lenin Theater, the Chamber Theater. But regardless of the name, all genres of stage art have always been cultivated in the Tyumen Drama Theatre.
One of the most prominent directors of the theater was Saburov-Dolinin, who was simultaneously an actor, director and director. With him, in the period from May 1924, the strongest acting troupe for the entire existence of the theater performed. Then played Samarov, Dymokovskaya, Reut, Vinogradova, Dmitriev, Chernoorodny, former actors of the Leningrad academic theater. The main female roles were performed by Galina, a former artist of the Nezlobinsky Theatre from Moscow.
At this time, historical dramas, works of Russian classics, revolutionary productions and musical performances were staged at the Tyumen Theatre. In 1935, a new building was opened, in which the theater is still located. The formation of a stable troupe allowed soon to assign the theater the status of a regional one.
