Everyone knows the beautiful city of Tyumen, but few people know how many attractions and just interesting places to visit. If you decide to arrange a tour of famous places of the city, be sure to visit the Tyumen State Circus. It has a very rich history that dates back to the XIX century. Back in 1839, street gymnasts performed on the site of its current location. By the end of the century, performances were held in huge stretch tents, and in 1897 the first stationary room was built.
In 1906, V. T. Sobolevsky became the new owner of the circus, and the institution began to be called after him. Soon a certain Kostousov becomes the director of the circus, and a permanent troupe appears here. In March 1921, after the revolution, the circus was nationalized and transferred to the department of the arts. The construction of the present building of the Tyumen circus was started in 2002 under the project of Igor Litovka. The total area of the building is 5425 cubic meters, the height is almost 37 meters. The diameter of the circus arena is 13 meters, and its total capacity is 1600 people.
