The Virgin of Kazan

Tyumen region, Ishim district, Berdyuzhye village

Description:

The Virgin of Kazan Church in the village of Berdyuzhye, Tyumen region, attracts attention with its unusual appearance. The church is built of wood. The first wooden church was built in 1826 in the name of the Kazan icon of the Blessed Virgin. In Soviet times, when the church building was considered a miracle, this church was demolished.

The locals asked for the temple to be rebuilt. Thanks to the persistent care of a local resident of the village of Berdyuzhier in 1992, a small wooden Virgin-Kazan Church was built instead of the one destroyed in Soviet times. The temple has two turrets with small domes and crosses. The canopy above the entrance has a beautiful wooden carving.
