The Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Joy to All Who Sorrow”

The temple of the icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” in the village of Uporovo, Tyumen region, was located in the center of the village. The church was built in 1895-1900 in honor of the icon of the Mother of God, called “Joy to All Who Sorrow”. During the reign of Soviet power, the church was closed, in the premises of its building there was a warehouse, an editorial office, and even a printing house. In the nineties of the last century, the temple was demolished, and a bank was built in its place.

In the XXI century, a project was adopted to build a new temple of the icon of the Mother of God “Joy to All Who Sorrow”. For him, a place was consecrated in the village on a hill, from where the whole village can be seen. The temple was built and opened its doors to Orthodox believers.
