Tyumen region, Uporov district, Suerka village, street. Red Army, 15A
Description:
The Church of St. Seraphim of Sarov is a magnificent architectural monument of the 19th century in the village of Suerka, Uporov district. The first two-storey stone church was built in 1778 on the high bank of the Tobol River. In the temple was placed an icon with the image of the Mother of God, which was considered miraculous. Since the bank of the river washed away, and the church could collapse, it was decided to build a new temple with a 29-meter bell tower, which was consecrated in honor of St. Seraphim of Sarov.
During the Soviet era, the church experienced persecution and difficulties, but was not demolished. Her miraculous icon was taken to Yalutorovsk. The revival of the temple began at the turn of the XX and XXI centuries.
