Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul

The Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in the Abat village is the only functioning Orthodox church in the whole area. Previously, there were three temples in the village, but during the Soviet regime they were destroyed, the building of the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul was miraculously preserved.

This church was built in the early 19th century in honor of the Epiphany of God. However, in Soviet times, forbidden for religion, the temple remained inactive, and its premises were used for various needs: as a mill, warehouse, alcohol factory, office service. All this negatively affected the state of the temple. Only in the 21st century the temple was restored, eight bells were installed on its belfry.
