Temple in the Name of the Prophet Elijah
Tyumen region, Kazan district, Ilyinka village
Description:
The temple in the name of the prophet Elijah in the village of Ilyinka, Tyumen region, was built on the site of a wooden dilapidated church. A petition for permission to build a new church dates from September 1, 1796. The construction of the church was completed after the War of 1812.
In the thirties of the last century, the church miraculously survived communist vandalism, its clergy were repressed. However, residents were able to achieve the opening of the parish during the war. In 1961, the church was closed again, its property was described and seized, and the premises were used for household needs.
At the end of the 20th century, the temple began to be reconstructed and restored. 1996 was a jubilee: the parishioners of the church celebrated the bicentennial of the church in the name of the prophet Elijah.
