d. Tyumen, st. Communist, 10

Description:

One of the most beautiful and recognizable places of Tyumen is the square of St. Philotheus Leschinsky, located near the Trinity Monastery. The authors of the monument are natives of Yekaterinburg - architect A.F. Medvedev, sculptor L.V. Kuzakov. In the center of the composition is the figure of St. Philotheus. Special attention deserves a beautiful arch, crowned with a cross, allegorically depicting the vault of the temple.

In the right hand of the metropolitan is a cross, under which he gathers the indigenous peoples of Siberia and the pioneers – the Cossacks. Opposite the figure of Philotheus are sculptural images of Vogul, Ostyak and Cossack. Philotheus’ gaze is turned to the Holy Trinity Church he created. The grand opening of the monument took place on July 27, 2007. Currently, the square of St. Philotheus Leschinsky attracts many tourists, having visited here, you briefly abstract from everyday problems and make good photos.
