Nikol Market in Ishim

Russia, Tyumen region, Ishim city, Lenin Street, 47

Description:

Nikolsky market is the most popular market among residents of the city of Ishima. Due to its convenient location in the city center, and a wide range of industrial and food products, the market has long established itself as an independent, competitive trading unit.

The market was opened in 2007, and a clock tower was built nearby – a modern architectural structure and the pride of citizens. Today, this watch is the hallmark of the city.

Simultaneously with the foundation of Ishim (XVII century) there is an active trade, which is represented by three fairs: on the days of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and the Assumption of the Mother of God. The fair was attended by residents from their own and neighboring counties. 1913 was marked by the decline of trade at fairs, as the construction of the Tyumen-Omsk railway begins, and the delivery of goods becomes preferable by rail.
