Monument to Praskovje Lupolova

Tyumen region, Ishim, Central Square

Description:

The monument to Praskovye Lupolova was erected in the city of Ishim on the main square relatively recently, in 2004, but won the status of a symbol of the city.

Praskovya was the daughter of the Lupolov family, who was exiled to a village near Ishim. She decided to intercede before the Emperor for the return of her father, so being provided with one ruble, an icon of the Mother of God and the blessing of her parents, Praskovya went on her heroic path, which was not done in vain. Her father and mother were returned to their former place of residence.

After 200 years, a monument was erected on the main city square, which is a walking peasant girl with a staff and an icon of the Mother of God at her chest.
