Trinity church
Tyumen region, Armizon district, Shabalino village
Description:
The Trinity Church is located on the outskirts of the village of Shabalino, towering above the surrounding open flat landscape. The history of this church is amazing. In the old days there was the village of Shabalino, where the locals built the red stone Trinity Church.
In the thirties of the last century, the Soviet authorities tried to destroy the church building, because bricks were needed. But the villagers did not let this happen. In the seventies, the village was considered unpromising and its inhabitants were settled elsewhere. People dispersed, their houses were demolished, and there was one empty church, which was nicknamed “the temple in the field”.
A decade later, farmer V.S. Stepanov and four other enthusiasts decided to recreate the temple. The church was rebuilt and with it the village was rebuilt.
