Manor of Kolokolnikov S. I

ooh Republic, 18, Tyumen, Tyumen region, Russia

Description:

The Kolokolnikovs’ Estate Museum is the only classical merchant’s estate preserved in Tyumen. It is one of the oldest homes in the city. The structure was known in the early XIX century, then it belonged to the Tyumen merchant I.V. Ikonnikov. In 1837, Tsarevich Alexander Nikolaevich and his mentor poet V. A. Zhukovsky stayed here. In the XIX century, the estate passed into the possession of Stepan Ivanovich Kolokolnikov, who radically updated it.

The facade of the building is made on the border of baroque and neoclassicism with some elements of traditional Tyumen carving. Entering the building, you will see a well-preserved luxurious festively lit double-light hall, as well as walls that are decorated with picturesque portraits of the Kolokolnikov family and a shopping shop, which is a collective image of Tyumen shops of the late XIX – early XX centuries. The Kolokolnikov Estate Museum has a memorial significance: from August to October 1919, the headquarters of V. K. Blucher was located in it. Currently, the mansion is located on the territory of the local history museum.
