Tyumen region, Ishim, K.Marks str., 2
Description:
The building of the prison of the XIX century, which contained Ishim communists, is located in the city of Ishim on Karl Marx Street. The prison building, designed for 250 prisoners, was built on the eastern outskirts of the city in 1854-1855 in the style of late classicism. The three-storey stone building became one of the first large buildings in Ishim. In 1858, the Orthodox Church of All Sorrowful Joys was erected next to the prison. In the prison building, Ishim communists were kept in prison during the Kolchak period in 1918.
Currently, the building has been adapted for a residential house, in connection with which the interior was redesigned, and balconies on the end facades were added. The former prison building was included in the unified state register of monuments.
