Krasnoselkup Historical and Local History Museum

The museum was founded on February 23, 1989.

The volume of the fund as of January 1, 2021 is 12,406 storage units: the main fund is 9,722 units, the scientific and support fund is 2,684 units. The main fund of the museum includes items of archaeology, collections of ethnography, numismatics, painting, sculpture, rare books, documents, decorative and applied arts, objects of natural science collection and history of technology.

The museum has stationary expositions “Russian Polar City of Mangazeya”, “Natural World of the Taz River”, “Traditional Culture of the Taz Selkups”, “Religious representations of the peoples of the North”, “History of the Krasnoselkup District”, “Stalin Railway Construction No. 503 “Chum – Salekhard – Igarka”. There is an exhibition hall for temporary exhibitions and a lecture hall.

On the territory of the museum since 2004 there is an open-air exposition "Selkup House", which is located in front of the facade of the museum building and includes 6 structures in life size: singing mot, or mot chui (literally "wooden house" or "covered house"), lokra sing mot - a wooden house of pyramidal type, cort - labaz, shokyr - oven, plague frame (during festive events covered with tires), wooden sculpture, created a natural landscape.
