House-Museum of Grigory Rasputin in Pokrovsky

pokrovskoye village, Sovetskaya str., 79

About the company:

The private house-museum of Grigory Rasputin in the village of Pokrovsky is a unique historical and cultural object created by the efforts of the spouses Vladimir and Marina Smirnov in 1990.

Until 2009, the museum was housed in a house that Rasputin often visited, but today it is located in another building - it stands directly opposite the place where the elder's house, demolished during the Soviet era, once stood. This house is also notable for the fact that the royal family visited here a few months before the execution, as evidenced by a memorial stone installed at the entrance to the museum.

The founders of the museum released several books about Rasputin’s life and collected an extensive collection of exhibits related to his personality: furniture, photographs, personal notes and documents, utensils, icons. Many of these objects are attributed mysterious and mystical properties.

Tours of the museum, which at different times was visited by many famous figures of politics, culture and art, are conducted by the Smirnovs themselves.
