Museum of Geology of Oil and Gas

One of the first museums of geology, oil and gas was opened in Tyumen. It introduces visitors to a new era in the history of the Tyumen land, which was marked by the rapid and global development of its natural resources. This, of course, concerns fuel wealth. The Tyumen Museum of Geology, Oil and Gas recreates the chronology of the first geological exploration works that took place in the Tyumen region in the period from 1930 to 1950.

The expositions of the museum reveal complex environmental and socio-cultural problems that arose after the abrupt and sometimes rash development of the northern regions of the region. In addition to the geological exploration exhibition in the museum you can get acquainted with the life of the indigenous population of this region - Khanty, Mansi and Nenets.

Samples of national clothes, household items are collected here, as well as examples of residential and household buildings are recreated. Another interesting exposition of the Museum of Geology, Oil and Gas will be a visit to the permanent exhibition “Mineral riches of Western Siberia”. It contains a collection of rare minerals and valuable minerals found in the Tyumen region at different periods of time.
