Tyumen

The Assumption Museum of Local History named after G.Y. Sotnikov

Tyumen region, Tyumen district, S. Uspenka, Moscow tract, 60

About the company:

The museum was founded by Georgy Yakovlevich Sotnikov, a talented teacher and scientist. Agriculture in the Siberian region with its cold climate has always been difficult. All the more valuable is the work of the first settlers who sowed and grew bread on the Tyumen land. Employees of the Museum of Bread in Uspenka created an interesting exhibition dedicated to the origin and formation of bread cultivation in Western Siberia, which is almost 400 years old.

Hand millstones, sickles, wooden hoes, a heavy plow and even a model of a windmill - that's what will see, touch, feel the guests in this amazing museum. Very carefully recreated the traditional life and way of life of a large family in a peasant hut - another exposition of the museum, where they will tell how the Siberian peasants lived, how they worked, what they celebrated and how they greeted guests.

The museum allows you not only to get acquainted with the history of agriculture, but also to be imbued with respect for ancestors, their hard work and understand what “Siberian character” means.
