Roshchino International Airport

Description:

Roshchino International Airport was opened on May 15, 1968, 13 km west of Tyumen. Currently, it serves as the base airport of the airlines Yamal and UTair, and also has the status of federal importance. In order to ensure passenger cargo traffic, which increased due to the expansion of the oil and gas complex, an air terminal was built at Roshchino Airport in 1969. In 1998, the airport building was reconstructed and an international terminal was organized there.

Roshchino airfield is capable of receiving Tu-154, An-124, Il-86, Il-76, Boeing 767 and increasingly light aircraft, as well as all types of helicopters. The international sector of the airport serves mainly charter flights in the summer, as well as some regular flights on a small list of international destinations. This sector can serve only one flight at a time on a Boeing 737-800. Passenger turnover of Roshchino Airport is 1.5 million passengers per year. In 2013, it is planned to completely reconstruct the airport building and enthrall its runway.
