About the company:
The beginning of the history of the Ufa State Circus dates back to 1968. The circus building was built according to a rather typical architectural project for that time, so its analogues may well be found in other cities. Initially, the circus was designed for two thousand spectators. The building included a large arena with a high vault for performing acrobatic tricks, numerous dressing rooms and rooms for artists. The circus also had a hostel.
The premiere performance in the Ufa circus took place in November 1968. In subsequent years, the circus were performed by the famous clowns throughout the Soviet Union, Yuri Nikulin and Oleg Popov, the famous illusionist Igor Kio, as well as trainers Walter and Mstislav Zapashny, Nikolai Pavlenko and many other popular circus artists.
In 1970, a studio for the professional training of circus artists appeared in the Ufa Circus and its own troupe was formed, which toured the USSR and foreign countries. This troupe, known as the Bashkir National Circus Collective, existed until 1991.
Nowadays, the Ufa Circus is one of the best circuses in Russia. It annually hosts festive events, performs popular artists, musicians and circus troupes, as well as charity programs.
