Bashkir State Puppet Theatre was established in 1932 as one of the first national puppet theaters in Russia. For seventy-five years, the theater has gone a long way of development, has accumulated a rich creative experience. One of the first in the country, the theater decided to put on an experiment along with children’s performances of productions for adults – comedy, drama, tragedy: “White steamer” by C. Aitmatov, “Blackfaces” by M. Gafuri, “Do not throw fire, Prometheus!”, “The Horse to the Dictator” by M. Karim, “Divine Comedy”, “Devil’s Mill” by I. Shtok, Alderman from the village of Aldermesh” by T. Minullina, “We ourselves with a mustache” by L. Valeev. The originality of the creative appearance of the theater, the uniqueness of its traditions is recognized not only in Russia, but also abroad. BSTC is a laureate of prestigious international festivals of puppet theaters. The awards were awarded to the production of “White Steamboat” by C. Aitmatov (Tashkent, 1979), “Blackfaces” by M. Gafuri (Hungary, 1982). And the performance “Indian Legend”, staged on the epic “Ramayana”, brought the theater the International Jawaharlal Nehru Prize and the most interesting tour in India. (1988, 2000). In recent decades, the geography of festivals has expanded, where BSTC represented the puppet theater art of Bashkortostan. Several times the theater went to Turkey with its productions “Brave rooster” N. Gaetbayev, “Bouquet for Mom” I. Almukhametov, “Magic Tales of Yansara” S. Surin. Performances of the puppet theater became prize-winners of festivals in Moscow, Krasnodar, Samara, Chelyabinsk. Well-known critics appreciated the work of Bashkir puppeteers. Today, the theater’s poster presents the main genres of puppet drama: classical and modern fairy tale, Bashkir epic. Actors work with different types and systems of puppets: gloves, cane, tablet, with puppets, masks. The only puppet theater in the republic sees its purpose in creating a special theatrical space, building a world that is close and understandable to the trusting child’s soul. The motto of today’s theater: “Give children a fairy tale!”, as the main contingent of spectators are children. The theater continues its creative search to expand the boundaries of the puppet genre and sets itself serious creative tasks to achieve new heights of skill. Additional information: The beginning of the performances at 12.00 and 14.00 performances are mainly designed for children of preschool and primary school age. The duration of the performances is not more than one hour. In the theater building there is a buffet (cold and hot drinks, cookies, waffles, candy, chocolate, chips, ice cream).
