S. Yulaev Park in the city of Ufa

d. Ufa, st. Salawata, 20

Description:

The history of Salavat Yulaev Park goes back to the early twentieth century, when the grand opening of the city garden on Sluchevskaya Hill took place. Initially, the entrance to the garden was decorated with beautiful cast-iron gates, gravel strewn paths and several gazebos. In the garden grew oaks, pine trees, birch trees and lilac bushes.

Throughout its history, the name of the park has changed many times. In 1903, the garden was named in honor of the Ufa Governor Nikolai Bogdanovich killed by the SRs. And after the revolution, the park was renamed in honor of the revolutionary Yegor Sazonov. In the 50s, a hanging bridge across the ravine, a pavilion-reading room, a cafe, as well as children's attractions appeared in the park. In 1960, one of the alleys of the park was decorated with a bust of Salavat Yulaev, but it stood only until 1967 and was removed in connection with the next renaming of the garden in honor of N. K. Krupskaya.

In the 90s the garden was abandoned and was in desolation. Plaster statues and gazebos were broken, the wooden flooring of the hanging bridge collapsed. But in 2007, the restoration of the park began, which gained its current name, was put in order and became a popular holiday destination for residents of the city.
