Park of culture and recreation of petrochemicals in the city of Ufa
Description:
The Park of Culture and Recreation of Petrochemists is one of the oldest parks in Ufa. It is located in the northern part of the city, right in the middle of a large residential area. Over the years of its existence, the petrochemical park has become not only one of the favorite places for residents and guests of the city, but also a real decoration of the city landscape.
The park was established in 1947. This event took place as part of the celebration of the victory of Soviet troops over Nazi Germany. That is why during the first years of its existence the park was called Victory Park. Its creation became not only a symbol of the memory of the great Victory, but also a unifying moment, because not only professional specialists, but also many workers of oil refining and chemical enterprises worked on the construction of the park. In 1980, the park got its current name.
Initially, the park housed a stadium and a cinema, and in the 1950s-1960s there was a parachute tower. Paratroopers were trained at the tower and demonstration jumps took place. The tower stood until 1970. Nowadays, there are numerous sports clubs, children's rides and summer cafes in the park, and in 2011 a "time capsule" was laid here with a message to descendants in 2036.
